This was our first time to go to MSP just after work.
I said we were like the students who cut classes, but after all, we were not students anymore. (Maybe Eric could still be counted, but I know he will probably deny this.)
The Connie Evingson & the Hot Club of Detroit was a fantastic group that performed Gypsy Jazz.
We actually relaxed and enjoyed the music and food there again.

(By the way, we "got" the same hotel again (from the Internet)-Hilton, but this time we had two queen size beds in a room.)
Of course this was not our only destination in MSP, we had planned some places to visit the next day.

After some great breakfast in  "The News Room",  (we all agreed that this one is better than the one we always go to),we started our adventures.
Why did I call this an adventure? That's because Eric haven't  been to the places we arrange to visit today before.

Since this was"our first time" together to visit these places, that should be called the adventures.
He printed some maps and checked some information online and my job on on the car was to tell him the direction by the maps.
Everything went well because Eric had a good sense of direction.
I found we didn't even have to use maps and Eric could still find the place. (I always joke him that maybe there is a GPS inside his brain.)
The first place we went to is was W River Pkwy and Third Avenue Bridge-just on the east bank of the Mississippi River.
It was a warm day and really suitable for taking a walk.
We saw lots of expensive condos located here and the scene here were nice.

(Did you see there is a small boat which went through the "elevator" in this channel?)
Later, we went to the opposite direction- the east bank of the Mississippi River- the Mill  City Museum

There was a Sat. farmer's markets here, as a result, we went there to give it a visit before we went to Guthrie Theater.

Eric originally planed to bring me to see a musical drama here in Oct.;however, i was not so much interested in it, he then gave this idea up.
But i have to say, this theater is really fantastic. This is a special building.
There were different colors of glasses  made the wall and the light looks great; moreover, it's the special endless balcony.
(people couldn't feel it's endless only if they take a look from outside)

Next destination is  Walker Art Center, but we didn't plan to visit the museum, instead, we only went to the famous Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
There are lots of sculptures  in the garden , and the famous one it the "spoonbridge and cherry".
It's in the middle of the garden.
Why did I say it is the most famous one?
You could search on the Internet and you will find this is a famous spot in this city.
I was excited when I saw it.
Maybe I acted too obvious and kept asking Eric to take a photos of us on our own, then a America saw this and asked me by his gesture (because he was a little far away from the place we stood) to see if we needed his help.
Yay! Of course !
This is really a friendly city XP!!!

Then we walked around the park and took some pictures. (some were odd while some were silly ><" )

ok.....I finished "reporting" the part of our Sat.
How about Sunday?
hey heY!!!
It's our "cookies day".
Eric and I had enough sleep and started to make cookies.
One reason was that we want to bake cookies "together" , another was we need to make something because of a visit in later afternoon in  Yuan's house.

(Almond cookies)

(Apples pies)

(biscottis)

Thanks her inviting to her place to make dumplings!!
Yuan is from the Northern China, thus it's a traditional dish for them to make , esp. during the Chinese New Year.
She and her husband prepared all the ingredients in advance.
We even made the dumpling skin on our own, and it's really impressed me a lot.
This was my first time to made the  "whole dumpling" (i mean both the part of stuffing and skin)
Yuan also prepared lots of other dishes to be dinner!
It's really nice of her family.!!!

Wow!!
I love this weekend so much!!
=)
